HI, I'm Mary!

 

Creator of Keep It Simple Strength or KISS. I’m a certified personal trainer and founder of MBStrength. My specialty is training women through all the seasons of their lives, adapting programs to their changing needs and goals. Over the last 10 years, my business has primarily focused on one-to-one training in person and online. I’ve helped hundreds of clients build strength, increase endurance, improve confidence, and reach their goals by giving them tools to develop the consistency needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. 

My Philosophy is consistency is key, and less is more. I believe that a nutritious diet and exercise should be a part of your lifestyle, not a short-term goal. I’ve seen so many women struggle with the diet and exercise rollercoaster. Initially they start out motivated and excited to make a change.  They begin the latest popular (often high intensity) workout program or restrictive diet, and eventually, they "fail" for one of two reasons: 

 

  1.  The program or diet was not sustainable, and after a few weeks, they gave up.
  2. They completed the program or diet with success, only to return to previous lifestyle habits resulting in the loss of any progress made. 

 

Over time this pattern takes its toll on both the body and self-confidence. 

 

This is why I believe less is more. When you try to go from zero to sixty, it’s impossible to maintain that momentum for long when it’s vastly different than how you’re used to operating. Start slow, build a solid foundation, and then grow from there. A workout program shouldn’t require you to spend hours in the gym or complicate your life.

I designed KISS to make it simple to incorporate strength training into your life and build that solid foundation needed to advance to more challenging programs. These short, full-body workouts are easy to follow, can be adapted to your fitness level, the equipment you have access to, and adjusted for your available time.
